Premier's Book Awards The biennial Awards will following receive deposit in 2018. Employment The State Library provides a range of different opportunities for those seeking a hard career. Volunteers Volunteering at the State Library offers a unique and rewarding opportunity. The annual scholarship is a partnership between the State Library of WA and Public Libraries WA. Applications for the 2018 scholarship will be announce in premature 2018. The aim of the Ingenious Fellowship is to enhance engagement with the Library’s heritage collections and provide new experiences for the public through ingenious works. Ian’s project explored the challenges and opportunities for clever writers of historical fiction. He argued that healthy researched historical fiction, written with respect for historical evidence can be an effective means of introducing larger audiences to Western Australian history and stories. Clint’s research was focused on the reconstruction and translation of Noongar songs from the unpublished notes of Daisy Bates. He has been able to identify and profile a number of Noongar singers and composers from the early 1900s. This work was part of a larger Noongar language project which aims to create new Noongar language resources. Some of her findings highlighted State Library resources and gave insight into the response of colonists to their fresh home. Jane presented a number of public talks, sharing her research, methodology and findings. Sue studied the history and environment of the Swan River, focusing on Perth Water the area of the river approximately from Kings Park to the Causeway. At the completion of her fellowship, Sue provided an overview of the environment, and social and political history of Perth Water. She profiled State Library resources and made it a handy tool for those interested in the general history of Perth Water. In addition to this Sue also presented public talks and hosted a public forum, where members of the Perth community were invited to share their memories and stories of the Swan River. Subject specialists can be delegated as spokesperson by arrangement through the Communications Marketing Manager. This includes a historical record of all archived Ministerial media releases. This can include filming of exhibitions and displays, collection materials and interviews. Hours of filming are to be within the conventional opening hours of the State Library. Name of the Program for which filming is being done. Fellow of the Library Board Award recognizing people who have made a significant contribution to the work of the Board. Library Board Award for Excellence The Award recognizes a long spectrum of library related work.

Education programs for primary, lesser tertiary students. The Story Deposit for families and the Children’s Literature collection. Resources and workshops for learners of all ages. Membership is available release of charge to all residents of WA. Order copies of items for personal use, research, display and publication. The State Library recovers costs by applying fees and charges for services provided. The State Library has made this studio available to individuals and groups who are interested in busy on original projects in a collaborative environment, in an accessible North bridge location. The studio’s inaugural residents in 2017 were young artists occupied with Shove Youth Arts WA to research original projects and collaborate with peers across artistic disciplines, making packed use of the State Library’s services and collections. Use of the Original Co working Studio is release of charge. It provides a variety of individual and communal labor spaces, access to wife, print, copy and scan facilities. Also available are unique gifts, greeting cards, postcards, calendars, stationery items and a variety of library and museum related merchandise. Plan An Excursion Make the most of a school or professional development excursion. Teaching programs, resources and professional development courses. Student workshops, resources and professional development. The Story Store The Story Place is a vibrant and colorful deposit with sufficient for children to do. The succeeding conditions apply to all clients who wish to access archival records: When researchers have finished with the records, they should be handed to a staff member. If access to any records is restricted, staff will advise researchers of the appropriate access application procedure. Stylish personal identification is required. Membership is not transferable, and must be shown to staff each time records are received. When requesting private archival material, researchers should consult inquiry desk staff. Pencils only are to be worn for note taking. When State Library sparse book materials are no longer required, they should be handed to the staff member on duty. Necessity is the mother of (re)invention.
